Research Topics

Topics of interest in the area of the epidemiology of youth drug abuse include but are not limited to:

  • Prevalence and Incidence of Youth Drug Abuse including Gender Differences
  • Current and Emerging Trends in Drug Use (e.g. Club Drugs, MDMA, etc.)
  • Descriptive Studies (e.g., Ethnographic Studies, Regional/Geographic Comparisons, Gender Differences, Natural History)
  • Secondary Data Analysis (e.g., National Longitudinal Survey of Youth, National Household Survey on Drug Abuse, The Monitoring the Future Project, The National Longitudinal Study of Adolescent Health.)
  • Transitions and Escalation from Drug Use to Abuse including Gender Differences
  • Special Topics (e.g., HIV and AIDS, Involvement in the Criminal Justice System)
  • Health Disparities in the Area of Youth Drug Abuse
