Mission: In partnership with the NIDA scientific leadership and program staff, the Office of Management (OM) provides executive management oversight and guidance including the delivery of timely, high quality, and responsive administrative services to support NIDA’s mission in a manner that reflects a commitment to excellence and the preservation of the public’s trust.

Vision: To enable the pursuit of scientific achievement by attracting, retaining, and developing the right work force; promoting our capacity for excellence through robust administrative management programs and services that are founded on principles of efficiency, effectiveness, quality, and high ethical standards; and fostering a management culture that bases evaluations, decisions, and overall direction on sound and reliable information.

Mission: The Administrative Management Branch facilitates business and administrative services to NIDA extramural; provides timely, accurate, consistent and courteous support to staff in their roles at NIDA and creates an environment that fosters confidence in all administrative processes; and optimizes staff potential in support of NIDA’s mission.

Mission: The Financial Management Branch aims to provide good stewardship and appropriate accountability in all financial transactions while overseeing and managing the more than $1 billion annual Congressional appropriation to the National Institute on Drug Abuse.

Mission: The Grants Management Branch provides effective management and stewardship of NIDA's extramural grant resources, and exceptional customer service to our NIDA colleagues and grantees.

Mission: The NIDA Management Analysis Branch executes innovative management initiatives to support the NIH and NIDA missions.

Mission: The Office of Acquisitions and its member branches provide guidance, acquisition services, and assistance to program staff in NIDA, NINDS, NIA, and NIMH regarding the procurement of supplies and services to ensure that the COAC's member Institutes obtain technically appropriate services from vendors at contract costs that are fair and reasonable.

Mission: The NINDS R&D Contracts Management Branch operates with the other Institutes within the Consolidated Operations Acquisitions Center (COAC) to plan, manage and carry out research and development contracting activities.
